Error 80020148

If you got Error 80020148 on your PSP when try to run iso or cso files then this may because of :
  1. FAT on your PSP is broken. Mostly is lost chain problem. OR
  2. The ISO/CSO file is a eboot ISO (ie: "Final Fantasy Tactics The War Of The Lions")

Troubleshoting for eboot ISO. (Custom Firmware only)
1. Open RECOVERY MENU. To open the recovery menu follow below procedure:
-Shutdown your PSP by move up the power button and hold on that position until your PSP is turn off. Then release your finger from the button.
-Turn on your PSP by move up the power at the same time press the R button.

2. Goto Advanced>Advanced configuration.
Enable "Execute BOOT.BIN in UMD/ISO"

lost Chain on PSP

As PSP using FAT to manage the file system the problem that usually occur on FAT also impact to PSP. The most problem on FAT system is lost chain problem. This problem cause the following symptom :
  1. unable to save game
  2. Saving file is corrupted
  3. For PSP with homebrew firmware unable to run game from iso or cso. (Error 80020148)

Troubleshoot procedure :
  1. Connect the PSP using USB connection into PC Windows XP.
  2. Run the following command on the command prompt : chkdsk /F [PSP mouting drive:].
The program will ask you to save the lost chain file. If you agree to saving the file then the files will be stored under folder /found. This folder is system folder. System folder is a hidden folder. You may need to uncheck the "hide protected operating system files " option on the "folder option" menu of the window explorer to able to see the files. Later you can delete these files to make more free space on your memory stick.
